Lucite Three Minute Sand Timer, Puget Sound Alaska Van Lines ( Item # 43124 )
This is a 2 3/4" square and 1" thick three minute sand timer from Alaska, Puget Sound Van Lines. The two telephone numbers shown are Anchorage BR 4-8301 and Fairbanks GL 2-1207. These numbers probably date the timer, but I am not familiar with Alaska telephone numbers. Most of these lucite timers were popular in the 1960-1970 era. It takes a little over 3 minutes for the sand to run through. As usual with these lucite pieces, there are some scratches and a little roughness on one short edge. Under a magnifying light, there is a very tiny ding on the top left corner. Apparently there were four applied knob feet, one of which is now missing. Perhaps it was also meant to be used as a paperweight? Considering the few problems, I am pricing it accordingly.

1968 WORLDS FAIR TOWER OF THE AMERICAS BUTTERLY WING CHARM ( Item # 43448 )
Today we have for your consideration a lovely commemorative pendant detailing the 1968 HemisFair World Fair that was held in San Antonio, Texas.
HemisFair '68 was the first officially designated worlds fair (or international exposition) held in the southwestern United States. San Antonia, Texas hosted the fair from April 6 through October 6, 1968. More than thirty nations hosted pavilions at the fair. The fair was held in conjunction with the 250th anniversary of the founding of San Antonio. The theme of the fair was "The Confluence of Civilizations in the Americas”.
This beautiful pendant or charm depicts The Tower of The Americas on one side while the fair’s logo is shown on the other side.
The side showing the tower features lovely blues, gold and black colors which shimmer due to the use of butterfly wings in the background.
The opposing side has striking gold and black colors which display the logo for the fair.
Both sides are further compliment by the use of silver tone metal around the outer edge of the pendant.
The pendant / charm itself measures about 15/16” in circumference.
This very attractive pendant / charm is in excellent condition.
