Captain James Lovell, USN Apollo 13 Autograph ( Item # 24709 )
The autograph of Captain James A. Lovell, Jr. U.S. Navy retired, former test pilot and astronaut, was obtained by James Dietz at "The San Diego Aerospace Museum" on March 16, 1996 for the presentation of "The International Aerospace Hall Of Fame -- Investiture '96".
Lovell's signature is on the front cover of this excellent publication.  James Lovell was the special guest speaker at this conference.
James A. Lovell, Jr. was born March 25, 1928, in Cleveland, Ohio.  He was graduated from the U.S. Naval Academy in 1952 and subsequently became a Naval Aviator.  While assigned as a test pilot at the Naval Air Test Ceenter at Patuxent river, Maryland, he was selected for astronaut training in 1962.
Love'sl first space flight was in December of 1965 with Frank Borman in Gemini 7.  Later, he brought the Gemini program to a successful close as commander of Genimi 12 with Edwin Aldrin in November of 1966.
In December of 1968, Lovel, Borman and William Anders became the first men to leave Earth's gravity and orbit the moon.  Among many other accomplishments, the Apollo 8 mission confirmed the technology which permitted future crews to land on the moon.
In April of 1970, with John Swigert and Fred Haise, Jr., Lovel was returning to the moon as commander of Apollo 13 when a life- threatening malfunction severly crippled the spacecraft.  The story of the three astronauts' perilous voyage and safe return was well documented in Lovell's book, Lost Moon, and subsequently made into the cirtically-acclaimed motion picutre "Apollo 13."
Also, included is the program where Lovell was the guest speaker and where this autograph was obtained.

Messerschmitt BF 109G-6 Autographed Color Print ( Item # 24711 )
Messerschmitt Bf 109G-6 Print of the fighter that Erich Hartman flew in World War II, and was originally a painting by Richard Goyat for the "Planes of the Luftwaffe Fighter Aces".
This print is signed by Adolf Gallandi, General of the Fighters and later NATO General.  Walter Krupinski, Fritz Oblesser and Dietrich Hrabak.  All were Luftwaffe Aces:  Adolf Gallandi (104 victories), Dietrich Hrabak (125 victories), Walter Krupinski (197 victories), and Fritz Oblesser (127 victories).
These signatures were obtained by Navy Commander Richard Dietz at the Long Beach Aces Symposium and Art Museum Show in the late 1980's.
This print from the original painting, is the first ever shown in the fully correct color of the machine, which Erich Harmann flew as Staffelkapitan of 7.JG 52.
Its usual nose marking was the only concession to the fact that he was the world's most successful fighter pilot, having at the time amassed over 300 confirmed victories and having been presented with the coveted Diamonds award.
The aircraft was equipped with a clear-vision canopy and the Erla-Haube FuG 16 ring antenna had been removed.  The camouflage of the fuselage sides showed no discernable pattern, for all colors had been oversprayed with only suggestions of the darker colors underneath.  The spinner and seven "tulip leaves" were painted in black, the spinner having one white spiral only whilst each of the "leaves" had a thin white border.  The number 1 and the second Gruppe bar were in plain white with the fuselage band and lower wingtips in yellow.  The personal emblem, Usch, is illustrated in the book by Kookaburra Technical Publications, Ltd., from PLANES OF THE LUFTWAFFE FIGHTER ACES.
The autographed print is nicely framed, matted and under glass.
For the true fighter pilot collector this is a classic to have four such autographs from World World II aces, no matter which side they fought with.  As an aside, each of these pilots has some great biography's online.

Air -- The Quest for Mach One Autographed Book ( Item # 24640 )
"The Quest for Mach One" is autographed by pilots Chuck Yeager, Bob Hoover, Jim Young & Bob Cardenas.  Also signed by oral interviewer for the book -- Dan Kilanowski and book commentator -- MacMcKendry.  It is rather rare to see the four pilots autographs in one book.
The Quest for Mach One is a first-person account of Breaking of the Sound Barrier and marked the 50th anniversary of an event that heralded the birth of a new age in aviation:  the day Check Yeager flew faster than the spped of sound flyijng the Bell X-1 rocket airplane.
Penguim Studio's The Quest fo Mach One celebrates the men, the airplane, and the triumph of breaking the sound barrier.   More than 100 fascinating photographs, together with candid first-erson narratives of the X-1 team members themselves, reveal the details of this momentous achievement.
These autographs were obtained by retired Commander Richard Dietz, US Navy Pilot, at a book signing held at the San Diego Aero Space Museum in the late 1990's.  Commander Dietz was on the staff at the Aero Space Museum at the time.  If necessary his son, Jim Dietz will verify for the above autographs.

Autographed Fox Book by Randy "Duke" Cunningham ( Item # 24453 )

An autographed hard cover soft bound "Fox Two" book by Randy "Duke" Cunningham the famrous first ace in Vietnam and now infamous congressman presently in prison.
The book was co-authored by Randy and Jeff Ethell.
I don't think Randy will be signing many books for a few years, and in spite of his mistakes, he was a great pilot.
"During his service, Cunningham became the first Navy ace in the Vietnam War, flying an F-4 Phantom from aboard aircraft carriers, and recording five confirmed kills, making him one of two U.S. pilots to "ace" in that war. He was one of the early graduates of the Navy's TOPGUN school that taught dogfighting techniques to F-4 Phantom pilots and RIOs. It has been alleged that Cunningham downed a MiG-17 piloted by Vietnamese fighter ace Col. Nguyen Toon. Although "Col. Toon" was a North Vietnamese manufactured myth the Vietnamese pilot was still a superb dogfighter.[6] "
See the below link for a great recent short bio on Randy "Duke" Cunningham from Wikipedia.
