Cyrus Noble -- Bear and Cubs Decanter ( Item # 24046 )
Another of our absolutely gorgeous Cyrus Noble North American Wild animal porcelain decanters -- this is the "Bear and Cubs" (ursus horribilis).
The bear is a creature of great size, bulk and strength.  It is omnivore, and will eat almost anything, from roots to beries to fish.  But the food it prefers above all is wild honey.
When irritated, bears are fierce fighters; this holds true for females as well as males.  In fact, a mother bear that sees her cubs threatened is a match for any creature in the widerness.
This decanter is the fourth in a series of six bottles.  Cyrus Noble Originals have been produced from original sculptures by a skilled artist-naturalists.
The bottle rests on a hand-routed teak bases, felt-padded to protect furniture; an embossed brass plateis mounted on the base.  The bottle is empty, but once contained Cyrus Noble Bourbon.  We have the box and Stryroform liner, but he box lid is missing.  The decanter is in excellent condition.
This decanter was produced in 1977 and is Limited Edition number 689 of 1800
See above for the dimenions of this decanter.

Cyrus Noble -- Penguin Family Decanter ( Item # 24057 )
In the frozen sourthern lands where few humans dare to venture, hundreds of thousands of penguins live and prosper.  These flightless birds are well adapted to the Antarctic environment.  The wings work well as paddles, helping the penguin go after the fish and shell fish that make up its diet.  Penguins' feathers are small and hard, almost like scales, and these protect the birds from the vicious cold of the ocean and the winter storms.  Penguins have few natural enemies -- only the leopard seal, McCormick's skua -- and man.
This is the Cyrus Noble "The Penguin Family," second in a series of ceramic works entitled "Animals of the Sea."
All the ceramics in this series are hand-painted and have been produced from original sculptures in limited numbers.
Each sculpture comes with a hand-routed teak base, felt padded to protect furniture.
This piece is numbered 1607 of 4994 limited edition.
Decanter is empty, we have box and inside liner.  Decanter is in excellent condition.

Cyrus Noble -- Walrus Family Decanter ( Item # 24060 )
The Walrus Family from Cyrus Noble "Animals of the Sea" series.
The walrus, with its hulking body, long tusks, whiskers, and mournful expression, has long been a favorite of story tellers, photographers, and artists. He inhabits the frigid waters surrounding the North Pole, and usually lives a peaceful life digging clams, mussels, and other shell fish from the sea bottom with its long ivory tusks.
When attacked, a walrus can do terrible damage with its tusks; in a pack to fight off an enemy they are vulnerable to harm from only one creature -- man. The walrus population has declined severely as a result of commericial hunting, but as yet is not on the endangered list.
This Cyrus Noble "Walrus," first in a series of ceramic works entitled "Animals of the Sea."
All the ceramics in this series are hand-painted and have been produced from original sculptures in limited numbers.
Each sculpture comes with a hand-routed teak base, felt padded to protect furniture.
This piece is numbered 1771 of 4994 limited edition.
Decanter is empty, we have box and inside liner.  Decanter is in excellent condition.

Cyrus Noble Mine Series Decanters ( Item # 19872 )
The full series of Great Old West Decanters of the Cyrus Noble Mine Series. These are truly works of art with the detail and hand painting on each decanter.  Decanters of this type, in my estimation, will be very rare in years to come as they simply haven't been made for 25 years and will not likely be produced or reproduced in the future.
You see individual decanters for sale occasionally, but seldom the entire and complete set.  What a marvelous collection for that back bar or your Old West collection.
This set includes Man Shaving, Landlady, Blacksmith, Miner, Burro, Gambler, Bartender, Assayer, Miner in Mine, Dance Hall Lady, Fiddler, Trumpet Player, Singer, and Whiskey Drummer.  Some have boxes and foam inserts, although some boxes have stains due to leakage.   The bottles are empty and most still have the original seals.  Some bottle heads lack full corks and have been afixed to the body of item to avoid breakage.

McCormick -- Thomas Jefferson Decanter ( Item # 30289 )
Hand Painted Porcelain McCormick Thomas Jefferson Decanter -- the author of the Revolution.
Thomas Jefferson, descendant of an old Virginia family, had been on that colony's frontiers in 1743.  He had bee reared with a classical eduction and had an easy familiarity with the languages and writings of the Greeks and Romans.  Admitted to the bar in 1767, Jefferson had built a successful legal practice that enabled him, in turn, to begin the construction of his still  famous hom, Monticello, in 1770.
In the same year Thomas was elected to Virginia's House of Burgesses, beginiing a polical career that was eventually to carry him to the Presidency.  The rest about Thomas Jefferson you can read on the McCormick box.
Decanter is in excellent condition with the foam line and box.
