ANTIQUE MEISSEN POTTERY SCULPTED PORCELAIN HOLIDAY ANGEL ( Item # 43534 )

For today’s auction, we are featuring a lovely porcelain sculpted angel ready to sing cheerful seasonal hymns. This lovely piece was manufactured by Meissen.
Meissen is famous for the manufacture of porcelain based on extensive local deposits of china clay and potter's clay (potter's earth).  Meissen porcelain was the first high quality porcelain to be produced outside of  the Orient.
The first European porcelain was manufactured in Meissen in 1710, when the Royal Porcelain Factory was opened in the Albrechtsburg. In 1861, it was moved to the Triebisch river valley of Meissen, where the porcelain factory can still be found today. Along with porcelain, other ceramics are also manufactured.
This beautiful angel stands with its wings extended ready to impart a blessing upon those willing to invite her into their home. Our angel pin measures 4 -1/8” in height and is 1 – 7/8” in width.
This lovely angel is in excellent condition and has no nicks, chips or cracks in evidence.
An attractive addition to anyone’s home at this joyous time of year.
If you have any questions, please be sure to ask!
