2000 20:45:32 -0500 From: ---------@webzone.net Subject: kudos: you probably get a lot of this I have sent kudos out maybe three times in my 37 long years of life but this definitely warrants a fourth! I have recently purchased cricket JR and today it paid off. I had set up CJ to snipe during the day while I was at work on an item that I did not think I would get due to my low bid. While at work I wanted to check the auction to see how I might fare. For three hours before the auction at 1230 until I left at 4 o'clock, not one person in the twelve I talked to could access ebay. And bear in mind we are a high tech company with an extraordinary amount of bandwidth. Ebay was very slow and attempts to connect were timing out. So I figured I was just out of luck like everyone else. WRONG!!!!!!!! Some how CJ had dialed up from home (where I have terrible line quality) and sniped as set up, with 10 seconds remaining. I had the ONLY bid on this item. Saved many $$$$ and picked up this new item that sells for $180.00 at CompUSA for only $95.00. CJ has paid for itself more than 6 times over with just this one auction. Soon you will be hearing from my co-workers and friends as many have asked for your internet address and I have all ready sent it to 8 of them. As I have shared this story with them, everyone asks how CJ did it? I just tell them I haven't a clue and before I can say anything else they ask me to clarify the name of the app and where they can find it! I would also like to get a license for my laptop. Do you have any specials on multiple licensing? Again thanks for CJ..........just too cool a product!!!!!!!!!! What does the email above say about this program? This customer while at work, bid on an auction he didn't believe he would win because his bid was low. He was stressing because there were huge problems on Ebay and nobody he called could get into Ebay... but no matter... BAM! My program dialed, connected and fired in his Snipe bid at the appointed time winning the auction for him! To top it all off, he says the program saved him a ton of money... and the program paid for itself 6 times over with this one auction! Sniping - What is it? Sniping is the art of bidding in the last 10-20 seconds of the auction. The intent of the Sniper is to take the high bidder position within a few seconds of the auctions end. Read my Snipe FAQ for more information. You can also check out what Dennis Prince has to say about Sniping. If youre a die-hard sniper, grab a copy of Cricket Jr." Cricket Jr Power Sniper is a highly developed Stealth program that places a bid for you in your absence! Sniping - Why do it? Ebay is in the Auction Business and makes their money off the Sellers. To make the most money they can off the seller, they need, want and pray for you to bid early in the game and they want you to bid ALL you feel the item is worth with your first bid... Does Ebay know what Sniping is? You bet ! Ebay's glossary definition of Sniping is really an argument against the practice! "There is a way to protect yourself from snipers and prevent being outbid at the last moment. If you bid the absolute maximum you are willing to pay, our proxy system will do the work for you" What the above should really say is, the only way to protect yourself from being bid up during the auction is to Snipe! Ebay would like you to perceive that you must be Protected against the Sniper! Look at this statement in the official Snipe Glossary: "If someone places a last-second bid that isn't high enough, they almost never have enough time to get back in and place a winning bid before the auction ends" The argument against Sniping is exactly why you should Snipe!
Sniping - How it works If you, and everyone interested in an item, bid incrementally, you effectively make a bidding WAR which costs everyone money. Click HERE to see the graphic example of how bidding prices escalate - (You paid $110 for an item starting at $50) Did I say bidding WAR? No.. Ebay calls it this when they explain how their Proxy Bid works:
Do you really want to get in a bidding war in the middle of an auction? Not if you are smart you don't! If you follow Ebay's advice to bid your maximum on the first day or two out and hope the eBay proxy will win for you, you should click on this link to see the graphic example of how the proxy scenario may just turn out - HERE (You still paid $110 for an item starting at $50) Jane uses Cricket Jr Power Sniper thus she lets the software bid for her in the last few seconds of the auction, poor Clyde doesn't stand a chance. Click on this link to see the graphic example of how the scenario unfolds with the Cricket Jr Power Sniper Sniping Tool - HERE (You only paid $52.50 for that item starting at $50) In the first examples, it cost Jane $110 for the item, but in this example, Sniper Jane took the same item for $52.50. How is this possible? This is a make believe scenario but the scenario is based on the behavior pattern of the typical online auction bidder. Clyde found the auction just like in the first two examples and so did Sniper Jane. While Clyde sat on the auction as high bidder all week, Sniper Jane went on with her life. On "Snipe Day" Cricket Jr Power Sniper submitted Sniper Jane's "Snipe Bid." Sniper Jane is no fool and used Ebay's bidder tip to bid her maximum but because she is a Sniper now, she waits for the end of the auction. Remember that Sniper Jane's maximum bid is $110. She won the auction for the $2.50 (the minimum bid increment imposed by Ebay's system) over the $50 because by waiting until the end of the auction to bid, she offered Clyde no opportunity to come back and bid again. After Cricket Jr Power Sniper submitted her bid for her, the auction ended a few seconds later! To see the behavior of online bidders in action, look at any popular ongoing auction and count the number of bids and compare this number to the number of bidders. If the number of bids exceeds the number of bidders then somebody may be playing the part of our friend Clyde... forcing somebody to pay more money for the auction item. This same situation occurs thousands of times every day at online auction sites like eBay. Your best defense is to know how people behave, and act accordingly to protect your interests - The only way you can achieve this consistently is to use a program designed to bid with your interests in mind.
