An open letter to anyone who is interested in the ‘lore’ associated with George Norman Pierce; the Pierce-Arrow car and related historical, and sometimes funny, family anecdotes.
There is a lot of information floating around out there .. some in books and now in cyberspace and the purpose of this open letter is to up-date and authenticate some of the ‘lore’ associated with George Norman Pierce, the man himself and his descendents.
As a very direct descendent…granddaughter and namesake of one of his daughters, Miriam, I have authenticated a great deal of information from 1900 forward and will continue to update and authenticate all information and artifacts that are directly related to the Pierce family name and, in the process, disallow all those that claim to be related to and are selling artifacts as members of the extended family of George Norman Pierce.
George Norman Pierce has numerous descendants, many still living, including those related by marriage to him, that have made their mark in this world, and continue to do so, in Industry: the Sciences: Aviation: Construction: the Arts & many other fields of endeavor, all without the help of any monies that ‘folklore’ has associated with the man and the Pierce-Arrow Automobile.
In fact, these decedents and their decedents continue to strive for the excellence and quality that is manifested in the automobile and family ties in whatever endeavor they are presently involved in.
George Norman [& Louisa Day] Pierce, have left us all a very fertile legacy that is both strong and binding and if anyone reading this wishes to contact me for verification of information related to this letter, or to verify any relationship you may have, please feel free to do so.
